"Picnic-verse"
2025-present

In the far future, humans have created: a dozen extraterrestrial colonies, near-instantaneous interstellar communication, and, only very recently, faster-than-light drives that can get you between stars in mere days. They have also created: United Earth, the liberal-leaning, heavily-bureaucratic government entity that oversees 90% of human activity in space and stricly regulates FTL travel.

But for all their adventuring so far, humans have not yet encountered other sentient life...

Tentatively named "picnicverse" as a Strugatsky homage. I need a better name...
