Said the Sorceress to Her Beloved—
Somewhere between the abyss and the moon
Where the towering cliffs and the water collide,
Stumbling forth from my earthen cocoon
I will shake off my flesh and I’ll sink with the tide.
Into the blackness I silently creep
To the echoing tune of my lover’s sweet call
Gladly embracing the lure of the deep,
I will swim to her cavern and bask in her thrall.
But time will unravel my strongest enchantments,
curtailing the moments I spend in your arms,
And later I’ll yearn for your strangest of stories,
your boldest of whispers, your wits and your charms.
Gaze out my window in perfect remembrance
Of ripples of waves down below
Slivers of brightness will herald your entrance
The moon flows behind you, I know.
